The earliest concept of the StormCat has existed since the year 2012, and its roots are based on a dream that StormyKnight had, as well as being inspired by her best friend, her cat, and of coarse, thunderstorms.  

The species was built from the ground up and seen many changes in development.

The first drawings were nothing more than simple doodles of a little cat in a notebook, the cat would eventually grow and evolve as StormyKnight's artistic skills and style changed and improved over many years.

The Universe and everything in it is comprised of energy, that can be manifested into various forms such as physical, elemental, and spiritual forms, of which combine with an "ether-real" essence that makes up one's soul. The StormCats have a very unique relationship with the energy of the Universe that we are only begining to understand.

The Universe is divided into four dimensions.

* Paradise

   The Highest dimension, often refered to as "Heaven,"

   where existance is positive and peaceful. Where spirits                   become one with the Universe. 

   An Ancient One oversees and controls this world,                           weaving dark  negative energy into positive light energy.

* Arrokai

   The "Spirit World," a mythical and spiritual dimention that             intertwines with Terrakai, but on a higher plane. a place

   where spirits, ghosts and mythical beings reside, and are                 visible to  those living in Terrakai.

* Terrakai

   Terrakai means "Earth World," and is occupied by all living           things (mainly humans and non-spiritual beings) Supernatural

   beings may also reside here.

*Under World

  Also refered to as "Hell," the oposite of Paradise where                  corrupted spirits reside broken and and always in conflict. The      souls of the dead may also reside here. Another Ancient One          oversees the Under World, weaving light energy into dark              energy 

Today, StormCats can be found almost anywhere in the universe, and in all dimensional planes of existance. Terrakai has a unique relationship with Arrokai, they exist on separate planes but occupy the same space. Residents of both worlds can interact with each other, but spirits must harness energy to bridge the gap between worlds. Reports of seeing a spirit or ghost are rare, but is the result of spiritual beings from Arrokai crossing over to Terrakai. Arrokai is like a parallel world and mirrors Terrakai. Non-spiritual beings residing in Terrakai are able to sense or detect the presence of a spiritual being from Arrokai, they can see and even communicate with each other. There is a myth that StormCats can only pass through all four dimensions by riding lightning and can be seen running across the bolts like a bridge.

StormCats are one the most powerful beings to reside in the universe,

and are responsible for the creation of great storms and natural disasters, they can influence the changes in weather patterns and climate as well. StormCats are ancient creatures surrounded by mystery and legend, these cat-like creatures have the ability to harness and manipulate energy in various ways, granting them special powers and abilities, such as elemental powers. Unfortunately, like all other beings, StormCats have one fatal flaw: By nature they are "empathetic" creatures, who are emotionally sensitive to some extent, they can sense the presence and feel the emotions of other beings around them,

and can become attached to things they find most valuable or appealing to them, these things could be places, objects and other beings, including humans. This flaw is both a blessing and a cures that makes them the perfect guardians.

 There was another Kodai, called "Thanatos," who grew very fond of the newly created StormCats and they in return, were very loyal and respectful of him. However this evil Kodai saw the galaxy begin to fall out of balance and believed that Akilah was becoming weak and unfit to maintain its very existance without the perfect balance. Because we all live in a duelistic world, there can never be light without darkness, good without evil, order without chaos. Thanatos confronted Akilah, assured in himself that the galaxy had begun to collapse, and that Akilah was no longer fit to be king. A conflict was started between the Kodai, causing the spread of dark energy and chaos throughout the galaxy, and among the creatures and beings living there, the StormCats in particular had felt the greatest effects of this conflict and opposing energies.

At this point in history, "the Reign of Darkness,"

the Kodai had begun to fight and a great war broke out, the StormCats were called to Akilah's aid in the battle to keep the galaxy balanced. Energies began to clash together, dividing what was once a beautiful peaceful world into four dimensions, the newly formed Paradise and the Under World, separated by the neutral dimensions of the Terrakai and Arrokai. The StormCats, being the strongest and most powerful beings, fought bravely, they banded together and combined their powers to create a great storm of pure energy in the form of a raging hurricane that swept away the opposing energies into the Under World, along with the creatures who fought against them.

The great war of worlds went on for many thousands of years and the StormCats continued to fight until the universe had settled and balance was restored.

 Thanatos and his followers were eventually defeated, but he demanded a sacrifice, as part of a peace treaty to end the war and to ensure that this world, now divided into its current state would remain in balance for all eternity. The StormCats all stood brave and boldly at the side of Akilah.

The Kodai king was saddened by the choice of sacrifice as he knew Thanatos had grown a fondness of the StormCats for their uniqueness and power and they too had respected him. Unfortunately Shocky was the favorite among them for her protective and caring nature, it was her duty to protect them at all cost, and as she stood with them, she ultimately chose to step forward, sacrificing herself for sake of her friends and creator. She was then sent away with Thanatos to the Under World, where she was immediately consumed by the dark energy turning her fur black and corrupting her.

Eventually the world was brought back into balance and the universe had settled, the other StormCats were safe in Paradise with Akilah. The treaty had arranged for the Terrakai and Arrokai worlds to remain neutral in each other, and for Akilah to oversee the Paradise world, supporting the influence of peace and harmony, weaving dark negative energy into positive light energy. While Thanatos oversees the Under World, supporting the influence and spread of evil and chaos, weaving positive light energy into dark negative energy, and thus a Kodai collaboration kept the universe in balance.

Unable to return to the higher realm of Paradise, Shocky was permanently cloaked by darkness in the UnderWorld, and was left feeling alone, other than for being in the near presence of Thanatos and his followers. However, there was a catch, Shocky was created with Akilah's own life blood, and the energy inside of her could not be changed or influenced by the darkness and eventually this energy revealed itself, her pitch black fur began to shed light in the form of shining white spots and her tail emitted a bright blue glow. Shocky is also able to wield her special powers drawn from her soul spark, and her own light energy. Her sacrifice was not made in vain as this gift of pure energy has kept her alive in the Under World and grants her access to the Terrakai world.

To this day Shocky uses her powers in an effort to bring a greater peace and balance throughout the universe.

Although they are good natured creatures, stormCats have a tendency to attach themselves emotionally to things that can lead them astray. They are creatures who are greatly attuned to internal energies, more so than external energies, with emotion being the most influential force they are affected by. The StormCats ultimately made the right choice to fight alongside Akilah who created them and not follow along with Thanatos, despite having loyalty and respect of him. 

As the Universe settled and the great war was over, the StormCats were deemed fit to reside in paradise with Akilah, where they would always be at peace, However some had chosen to remain in the Terrakai and Arrokai worlds. But even in Paradise, the Stormcats had felt a sense of loss due to Shocky's sacrifice and was too much to bare, some had found themselves being pulled toward the Under World, in an attempt to reach her, or follow the foot steps of Thanatos. Their attempts to embrace and consume the dark energies like an addiction leads them to feel restless and becomes a part of them which they cannot escape and the darkness eventually corrupts them, turning them into very thing they'd all fought to destroy in the end.

In the year 2012, the first StormCat was created and called "Shocky,"

Stormy began creating her fursona and a back story for the character, with the thought of one day writing a book or a movie script.

Shocky was depicted in her earliest drawings as just a regular cheetah character.

But in 2013, Shocky was completely re-designed, with a change in physical appearance as well as color scheme, she was eventually classified as a StormCat, and resulted in the birth of a new furry species.

In the late winter of 2015, the StormCats had undergone further development as a species, with much dedication to the project, after Stormy had experienced a state of major depression. It wasn't until the spring of 2016, a picture was posted on Facebook of a black cat with blue markings.

Eventually, Stormy started a YouTube channel, making mostly music videos, and playing the game "FeralHeart," where the character came to virtual life. She also opened a DeviantArt page where she posts most of her artwork. 

Initially, very little is shared about Shocky online.

"Once upon a time, in a galaxy far away..."

In the very ancient past, of a galaxy, there was no Paradise or Under World, there were many planetary systems and worlds, congregating with all types of energies and beings of all sorts in a place of peace, and harmony. There was an ancient being called a Kodai who ruled the galaxy during this time, and was worshipped like a god by many cultures residing in the galaxy.

They called him "Akilah" the guardian of the galaxy. There were many other Kodai like Akilah, but he is king of them all, and the one responsible for creating all life in the Universe. Eventually, the galaxy had become difficult for the Akilah to maintain and balance, so using his life giving powers, he created the StormCats. Many of these StormCats were gifted with special powers and abilities, charging them the tasks or responsibilities that played into their empathetic natures. They were the fiercest of guardians who would watch over and protect the galaxy and its inhabitants, and on occasion may influence them in some mysterious way.

Among the StormCats, there is one in particular who stands out from the others, a unique creature, who is most commonly recognized by her name, "Shocky." She was given the highest honor of the StormCats, of being the most loyal guardian, protector and caretaker, and was also tasked to help keep the galaxy in balance. This particular StormCat was created with pure energy and life blood from Akilah himself, and was proposed the task of bringing greater peace to all the universe.
