Muscular System

Muscles

The muscles are built for speed and endurance, possessing more fast twitch fibers that slow twitch.

Compared to their cheetah counterparts, StormCats have longer limbs and muscle structure, allowing them to run faster for extended periods of time. Powerful back muscles in the lower spine, control the curving and straightening of the spine and make up half the StormCat's muscle weight. Long thick thigh muscles give the StormCat great strength, endurance and power, able to stand up for long periods of time.

The tail is extremely flexible, able to grasp objects firmly and sway back and forth very easily. It keeps the StormCat in balance. If the tail is injured or amputated, it will grow back

over time, However, a StormCat may suffer some loss of strength and balance due to muscle damage.

Wind Feathers

The most noticable key feature that all StormCats possess is their wind feathers. StormCats mainly possess four sets of three wind wind feathers, mounted behind the shoulders and hip. Some individuals may have wind feathers on their head and tail as well.

A StormCat cannot fly with its wind feathers alone. The wind feathers can vary greatly in length, but they are not strong enough to support a StormCat's weight and are not meant for means of flight.

The wind feathers are essentally part of the nervous system.

StormCats possess extreme agility and thleticism, having a flexible skeletal system requires for a strong flexible muscle system as well.
