StormCats are sexless and have no genitalia or reproductive organs, so they cannot reproduce by normal sexual standards.

If a StormCat were to pass away, it would become a spirit and enter the Spirit world of Arrokai where it is still visible to those living in Terrakai.

If two StormCats in a soul mating pair were to die together, their Soul Sparks will merge through a soul-bonding process and a new StormCat will take form from a cloud of static energy and life force from the two Soul Sparks as they become one. The new born StormCat (Kitt) will inherit certain traits and abilities from its parents, such as coat colors and physical features. StormCats are immortal, so this will last all its life before the growing StormCat gains the ability to pass away on its own and become a spirit.

The StormCat species is entirely sexless, but that doesn't make them genderless. An alternative to genders is the concept of masculine or feminine within the StormCat society, and the acceptance of having characters who act "manly or girly" by human standards. However, the StormCats themselves do not identify, or feel that they are a specific gender type, because they have no concept of such a thing.

Another alternative, is the distinguishing of males from females by some physical features, males may appear bigger and more muscular looking, while females may be slightly smaller. Males may also be more likely to possess whiskers, horns or spikes, for display and fighting off threats or finding a potential female soul mate.
